Kimberlee and KC Come for a Visit!!

As most of you know, KC served his mission in Riverside, CA. When he got back home, he had some friends he wanted to come back and visit. Kim and Tyler decided to tag along with them. Kaleb and I were thrilled for them to come! Jordan, KC's girlfriend at the time, was also coming with them and we were also excited to meet her!

We met them down in Oceanside near San Diego to hang out on the beach. It was actually a really nice beach. The only thing was the weather was freezing! The boys were all about getting in the water! The girls not so much.... We just laid on the sand hoping the sun would come out to warm us up.

They were able to rent boogie boards and they were out there for so long!

Notice my sweat shirt, yeah, it was cold!

Kim was just a few weeks pregnant and looked so good!

The whole gang!

After the beach we took them to The Grove in Beverly Hills for dinner. It wasn't as good as Kaleb and I remembered it, though. I think they thought we were crazy because we said it was so delicious.

After we walked around The Grove and looked at the stores, we decided to go and walk around Hollywood Walk of Fame and The Chinese Theater, that's where the celebrity hand prints are.

It was so funny to watch KC, Jordan, Kim, and Tyler walk down the street. It reminded me of when Kaleb and I first went to Hollywood. Scared of Everyone! And Everything!! There was a guy that came out of an alley toward Tyler and the guy apparently had a potato. We came up with lots of jokes about potatoes being used as weapons!

We had to take a picture for dad with Andy Griffith's star.

It was a super fun day and I am so glad that I got to see them! It's always nice to see a familiar face!

The Getty

I've had quite a few clients get "mad" at me because I hadn't been to The Getty or The Getty Villa. They always go on and on about how gorgeous it is, and that the cafe is amazing. We decided to check it out on Mother's Day.

We took Sunset Blvd all the way there, it was Beautiful! I had driven this way before for an event, but it was new for Kaleb. There are so many different trees and awesome landscapes!

It took us awhile to finally park, who knew that it would be busy on Mother's Day. I guess we chose the wrong day.

Once parked we got in line to get on the trolley that takes us up to the top of the hill to The Getty.

It was a very gorgeous view all the way up.

We were both in AWW! The building was amazing!!! Already I was falling in love with the art! The architecture was incredible, and the white stone was so clean and perfect!

There were so many different buildings and things to look at we didn't really know where to go and what to do, so we mostly just followed the crowd.
We first went into an art gallery. Kaleb and I aren't so much into the arts so we didn't really know how to appreciate it too much, so we stuck to the art outside.

There was an amazing garden! There weren't that many flowers and the grass wasn't as green, some signs said that they are trying to conserve water for the drought. So hopefully the drought ends soon so we can go when it is in full bloom!

Again, Kaleb and I aren't so great at enjoying some art pieces, so some of them were a little odd to us.

The Getty overlooked Los Angeles and there were city views all around us.

There was a nice wading area for the kids to get their feet wet on the hot summer day!

A cute little zig zag walk from the garden back up to the building.

They had a little creek running zig zag as well.

I don't know why, but I loved this stair case. It definitely could have been the stone it was made out of! We both loved it so much!

We walked around for quite a while and still didn't see it all. I have heard that The Getty Villa in Malibu is just as pretty. We still haven't gotten to it but want to very badly!

After The Getty we decided to try a new restaurant. While Kaleb was driving around, I was looking up restaurants. Crazy that we can do that on our phones now. We decided on Chinese and I found a place that had amazing reviews. The only thing was that it was in a sketchy part of town. Kaleb and I decided that we needed to face our fears and just go for it, plus we were super starving.

We got it to go so that we wouldn't have to stay there long, but the employees were extremely welcoming and sweet! The food was very well priced and tasted super delicious! Best ham fried rice that I have had!

We had tons of left overs! Which is great, because then we can have it for lunch the next day!

It was such a fun day, and of course, the weather was beautiful!

The Medieval Festival

Kaleb heard at work that there was a Medieval Festival that a few of his coworkers were going to. We looked it up and it looked super fun!
It was a little more than an hour away from us. There were so many people there already!

It was way fun walking around and seeing all the costumes!
A lot of the people talked in accents as well, most of them were pretty good at it.

They even had a Queen with all of her servants following her around.

We watched a magic show for a little while. They had some awesome tricks, walking around on stilts and disappearing tricks.

We really wanted to see the jousting but it didn't start for another half hour or so. We decided to walk around a watch another show while we were waiting. We came across a performer named Moonie. He was doing some annoying little tricks.

It was just about time for the jousting to start so we got up to leave. Right then Moonie came running after us and told us it was a bad time to leave. He then took Kaleb on stage.

I felt so bad for Kaleb, I was laughing for a little bit but the guy made Kaleb do some ridiculous things. Like get on his shoulders and help him onto the tight rope. Kaleb's shoulders were sore for a couple of days.

The funny part was when he wanted Kaleb to throw knifes at him to Juggle!

Kaleb was extremely nervous and had to get closer.

We finally were able to get away and go see the last of the jousting. We only saw a couple of minutes of it and it was fun while it lasted.

After the jousting, we went and saw the Well Washing Wenches. They were absolutely hilarious! We laughed throughout the entire show!

They used this guy's arms as their "musical instrument".

Poor thing had slobber all up and down his arms afterwards.

They had a couple other men come up as well and had a damsel in distress act. They were definitely my favorite act of the whole day!

There was also a bird show. He had a gorgeous owl, but I couldn't get a good picture of it. But the hawk was pretty awesome as well, he flew from post to post to get a treat.

Even though Moonie set the day off, it was still a fun adventure!
We definitely will go when it comes around again!

New Job, New Car!

Kaleb finished school in December and officially graduated in January. He started applying for jobs when he finished school. As most of you know, getting a job out of school is not the easiest thing. Luckily I had my steady job, but we still needed to find Kaleb a job so we start building our savings back up.

After a few months and a million resumes sent out, he finally got a job! I was so incredibly proud! All the hard work had paid off! It perfect, an audio job with lots of room for growth!

We only had one car and knew as soon as Kaleb got a job that we would have to buy a second. We went car shopping once before, to get the hang of it. They were extremely pushy and we didn't even like the car they were trying to get us to buy. We finally had to put our foot down and walked out the door.

The second time we went shopping, we went to a dealership that a cousin recommended. I had researched the cars that they had on the lot before hand so we had an idea of what we wanted. It made it a much better experience and the salesman we were put with helped us out a lot.

After a lot of paperwork and signing our names, we finally were able to leave with our new car!! Kaleb even let me drive it home.

We still love it!

Of course, that weekend, we had to go out and celebrate! We went to a sushi place in the Burbank Town Center.

The Sushi was actually pretty good, plus we hit happy hour so it was cheap!

We were a little hesitant when we saw the outside, but we are glad we took the risk!

At the Burbank Town Center, there is a mall and IKEA!! I wanted to go to Ikea, but Kaleb thinks it's torture, so we headed into the mall. Right when we walked in, we realized that they were closing in 5 minutes. We walked out and were going to go in Sports Chalet, but they, too, were closing. All that was left, and that was not closing, was Ikea!! I was super happy, Kaleb was not so happy....

Trying to make it not so miserable for Kaleb, I walked fast and we bought a chocolate bar at the end.

It is such a great feeling for us to both have jobs! We both love what we do and are so grateful for the support from our friends and family!
