Anniversary Celebrations

December 29 was Kaleb and my 3rd anniversary! Can you believe it!? Three years have just gone by! We didn't have anything huge planned out because money was tight, but my Aunt Dawn had given us tickets to the Longbeach Aquarium.
Our anniversary fell on a Monday this year. The weekend before, my Uncle Jared and Rebecca had come into town! It was super fun to hang out with them! We went to dinner a couple times and took them to Milks to get Macaroon ice cream sandwiches!! Thanks again for visiting us!
Mondays are my day off so it was perfect for us to have the day to ourselves. We headed to Longbeach early in the morning. The drive isn't too bad, just a lot of traffic. Yuck!
Park was nuts, of course, but we were able to find a spot! Thank goodness!
We headed to the least crowded spots first. The best part was watching the kids get excited to see the animals. One little girl had asked her mom if the seals were mating. It was hilarious! I can't remember the response, but we were laughing pretty hard!

There was a petting area but we didn't want to have to wash our hands afterward so we just watched the little kids squeal every time they touched one or one got close to them.

There was a giant shark tank with sting rays and of course sharks!! It was AWESOME!!! We got pretty close to them and even got to watch them feed. The feeding wasn't as cool as we thought it would be but we were still excited we got to watch!

There was this awesome set up that would show what happens when it rains. I thought it was pretty cool! But, of course, you would get wet if you got too close so we kept our distance.

We didn't expect a bird exhibit to be at an aquarium! You could buy nectar and the birds would land on your shoulders but we just watched everyone else do it. There was one guy with like 5 birds on his arms and shoulders! The birds were super friendly!

They had Penguins too!!!

This CRAZY Starfish!! Look how many legs it has!!

And a creepy looking Spider Crab!

In the gathering area they had a giant whale hanging above! It was HUGE!! One day I want see a live whale in nature!

They had a seal and sea lion show. We got there early so we could get good spots. We ate a granola bar while we were waiting! This picture we have our mouths full!

So we had to take another one.

The show was awesome. They know how to do all sorts of tricks!
This guy was my favorite. Probably because he was the biggest one too.

It was such a fun day!
It was probably not the right thing to do after going to an aquarium and everything but we decided on Sushi for dinner.
Kaleb used to Hate sushi! But I made him try different rolls and now he LOVES it! We actually went to the same place with Rebecca and Jared a couple days before, but we love it so much we decided to go again.

The place we like to go is within walking distance. Its good too because we eat so much it is nice to get the exercise on the way home to loosen everything up inside.
So much has changed the three years we have been together and I am so excited to see what else we conquer! Kaleb always keeps me on my toes with his ideas and plans and I love it! I can't wait for the next adventure with him. If he isn't planning it, then I am! We have such a strong bond and we love each other so much!

Christmas Time!

We had the great opportunity to go to Utah for Christmas! Yay! I was so glad to be able to go. Melanie and Marva were so awesome and arranged our plane tickets for us so all we had to do was catch the flight.
It was pretty early Saturday morning but we were able to drag ourselves out of bed. I haven't gone on an airplane for a really long time so I was super excited to do so!
While waiting for boarding the was a beautiful view of the sunrise!!

The flight was only an hour and a half which gave us just enough time to watch Wreck It Ralph! We both adore that movie!
Kim and Tyler had made plans to go spend the holiday with Tyler's family in Oregon so they picked us up at the airport before the headed on their way. We went to lunch at Leatherby's and then they took us over to Melanie's house.

It was so fun being able to sit and chat with them! They are hilarious!!!
Saturday we spend the day with Melanie and in the evening we hung out with Kevin and his wife Tammy. She is super sweet and has amazing decorations in their home!
That night we went to Beck's holiday performance. He is a singer and a dance and is amazing at both!! And then we went to frozen yogurt after, Yum!
As I was doing this blog post I realized I didn't get any pictures with Kaleb's family and kicking myself for it :(
Sunday morning was picture day! Melanie had wanted to get a family photo, she asked a couple of friends but it fell through. But Melanie knows a lot of people and one of her friends was able to hook us up with a professional photographer to take our pictures. She was great!
One of Melanie's friends also made us Cafe Rio style dinner! It was absolutely delicious!! Melanie has really great friends!!!
It was our first time meeting Eli, Brittany's youngest. He is super adorable!!
We celebrated our Christmas with them having a gift exchange. I think the best part was Easton and Blake being SO excited that they got hot chocolate!! And the fact that Blake kept stealing Kaleb's candy!
Sunday night was spent with my family. My awesome parents drove down to Utah, that way we could spend more time with them vs having to drive 3 hours both ways.
Brittany and Scott had made us lasagna! Also delicious! We also got to meet Paxton, my sister Brittany's youngest. He is so chunky and adorable!

And then we headed off to temple square. We always enjoy seeing all of the crazy decorations! I can't even imagine how much time it takes for them to put the lights on the trees!! Kaleb and I were freezing the whole time though! It was a little warmer than usual for the locals, but we had gotten so used to the 70-80 degree weather, going to the 40s was a little shocking.

I love this boy to PIECES!!! And miss him like crazy!!
We then went to the Sawatzki's and had our Christmas celebration with them! The boys were super hilarious opening their presents.

We Love Crazy Grandpa Franson!!
The next morning we hung out with my family again. We started out at IKEA and then headed over to Scheel's so Jud could ride the farris wheel.

Last time Jud and I rode on it he held on the the bar for dear life and kept his eyes closed the whole time! It was hilarious! This time though he was brave and enjoyed the ride!
We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch!! YUM!! We love the wings!
After lunch we went back to my parents hotel and watched the boys swim. They loved the water! It was a little chilly so they didn't swim too long. I bundled Stockton up afterward and he played with Kaleb. Stockton's laugh is hilarious!!

That night Melanie took us to Red Robin for dinner and to the Hobit part 3. We always enjoy going to movies but they are always so expensive here!
Tuesday morning I was got a hair cut from Brittany, she always does such a great job!!
After that we went to lunch with Kevin and Tammy to The Pi. I had had their pizza a couple times a long time ago but had forgotten how good it is!!
It was so nice being able to see everyone!! We miss them all the time! We wish that it weren't so expensive to go back and forth.
Melanie dropped us off at the airport and we headed home.
We were so glad to be able to see everyone and can't wait for the next time we get to take a trip!!

Studio Time

As most everyone knows, Kaleb and I moved to California so Kaleb could attend Audio School. I had toured his school with him a few months before he attended and had been there a couple times before but I had never seen him in action! Kaleb wanted to get some sound effects recorded and asked me if I wanted to tag along! It was so much fun to see how different sound effects work and how he uses the huge board with all the dials!

The recording room was FREEZING! As you can see I am wearing two jackets! Thank you Kaleb for letting me wear yours!

They had a couple tubs full of random things such as pots, pans, and even a rubber snake. Very random things. We would think of a common sound effect such as a having a sword fight, and then we would try different things to make those sounds. It is a lot harder than you think!

This is the GIANT sound board!! He taught me a little bit about it and it was very complicated!

He did some different sound effects and we recorded our voices in different pitches! It was hilarious! Our gut was sore from laughing so hard! We tried to record as many different sounds we could come up with!

I am so glad I was able to go with Kaleb to see what all he can do. He is very talented and works very hard at what he does! I know that he will be very successful.

Such an Awesome night!!
